How do you remove glued Bali hair extensions?
February 19, 2010 - Posted in Bali vacation packages
I got ‘human’ hair extensions glued in in Bali. The lady in the salon didnt speak much english but she said to use hot oil.
Im not sure how that would work or if it would.
My friend also got some a few months before and just pulled them out… I dont really want to do that.
Also I have big mats (big knots) in my hair from them. Any good ideas on how to get them out?
Well, ripping them out is a terrible idea. I had some installed that looked terrible and some of the bonds were showing, so I wanted them out. I was desperate and I figure I’d let my dad try to get them out. He cut 2 out with a pocket knife and when I finally went to a professional to get them out, she could tell. So, don’t yank or cut on them. You WILL NEED bond remover oil. A get pair of flat pliers would help, also. It will take a while, so be patient. I had 100 installed and it took over 4 hours for a professional to take them out. It’s still expensive to have them taken out. Most salons charge $50 – $150 an hour for removal of bond extensions. If I were you, I’d call up a friend and get ready to work for a while. Pour a little bond remover oil onto each bond and use the flat pliers to smash and tear at the bond until they slip out of your hair. I’ll be straight with you, there will involve some unpleasant tugging and your head may be sore for a while.

Good luck.

Buy a bonding glue remover, or you can also remove your extensions with conditioner or nail polish remover:
for the bonding glue remover you can buy some at Sally Beauty Supply Stores. or online.
as for the Conditioner, out conditioner on your tracks there you glued thenm on make sure you put a lot, and then just let the conditioner soak in your hair for about half and hour. and massage the conditioner in your hair to the tracks they should start slipping off and removing the exntesions. it works great dont pull them out tho.
as for the Nail remover: grab a cotton ball and put some nail remover on it. then drip some remover on the track where u glues the extesniosn then wet the tracks witht he nail remover and they should start slipping off.

You should go to a professional hair extensions salon to remove your hair extensions. Hair extensions salons have access to professional grade removers that are not sold in stores. If you do it yourself, you might damage your hair extensions.

Next time, before to use hair extensions make sure they will not be the one damaging your hair. What is the point of adding hair to your hair if your natural hair will be eventually gone?
